Low carbon steel coils are widely used for nail manufacturing due to their excellent ductility, stable tensile strength and smooth surface condition, ensuring efficient wire drawing and high-quality finished nails. These coils are typically produced from materials such as Q195, SAE1006 and SAE1008, which contain low carbon content between 0.04% and 0.12%, making them suitable for cold forming, bending and shaping without cracking.

The coils undergo precise hot rolling and pickling processes to remove surface scales and improve wire-drawing performance. Manufacturers prefer pickled and oiled surface conditions because they ensure clean, consistent feeding into wire drawing machines, reduce tool wear and improve production speed. The mechanical properties of these steel coils allow for uniform wire diameter reduction, enabling stable production of common nails, roofing nails, concrete nails, U-shape nails and other hardware fasteners.

Available in thicknesses ranging from 1.2mm to 3.0mm and widths up to 1250mm, the coils can be customized to match different wire drawing equipment. Their tensile strength, typically between 270 and 450 MPa, ensures the final nails achieve good hardness and resistance to bending. After drawing, these low carbon steel wires maintain high flexibility and excellent adhesion for further treatments such as galvanizing, phosphating or heat treatment.

Industries using these coils include construction materials, furniture hardware, agriculture, packaging, household tools and industrial fastening systems. Large stock availability, strict quality control, and stable chemical composition ensure reliable and efficient supply for nail factories worldwide. Mill test certificates (MTC), chemical composition sheets and mechanical property reports can be provided to ensure compliance with customer standards.

With competitive factory pricing, stable supply capacity and strong weldability and formability, low carbon steel coils remain the ideal raw material for global nail manufacturing and wire processing industries.
